In this case we review the determination of the Hearing Panel of the Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission (the Hearing Panel) that Judge Judith W. Hawkins has committed a series of violations of the Code of Judicial Conduct. We have jurisdiction. See art. V, § 12, Fla. Const. The Hearing Panel recommended serious sanctions short of removal, but our constitutional responsibility requires this Court to determine the appropriate sanction. See In re Sloop, 946 So.2d 1046, 1049 (Fla.2006). Article V, section 12(c)(1), of the Florida Constitution confers on this Court the authority to…
