Vincent Sims was convicted of especially aggravated burglary and first degree premeditated murder in the shooting death of Forrest Smith. Sims was sentenced to twenty years on the especially aggravated burglary conviction and was sentenced to death for the first degree murder conviction. The sentences were ordered to run consecutively.
