The plaintiff appeals from a judgment rendered on the verdict of a jury, rejecting his demand for damages for an alleged violation of contract.

Plaintiff and defendant each rented about 300 acres of land for the cultivation of rice. Having adjacent fields, the defendant’s field being on the. front, near Bayou Teche, and the plaintiff’s being in the rear, nearly two miles back from the bayou, they agreed to have one irrigating outfit for both. fields.
