On June 15, 1988, following a jury trial in the Detroit Recorder’s Court, defendant was convicted of two counts of second-degree murder, MCL 750.317; MSA 28.549; four counts of first-degree murder, MCL 750.316; MSA 28.548; and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, MCL 750.227b; MSA 28.424(2). Before sentencing, the trial court vacated two of the first-degree murder convictions and one of the second-degree murder convictions.
