This case requires us to consider the proper application, in the context of a pro se debtor's bankruptcy court filings, of judicial estoppel, a doctrine developed to prevent litigants who "play[ ] fast and loose with the courts from gaining unfair advantage through the deliberate adoption of inconsistent positions in successive suits." Wight v. BankAmerica Corp. , 219 F.3d 79 , 89 (2d Cir. 2000).
