MEMORANDUM OPINION OF THE COURT

I. INTRODUCTION

A Lewis Circuit Court jury convicted Appellant of First-Degree Rape of a child under twelve (12) years of age (a Class A felony) and recommended the maximum sentence of life imprisonment. On October 2, 1998, the trial court entered judgment in accordance with the jury’s recommendation, and Appellant appeals from this judgment as a matter of right1 in *2641998-SC-0856-MR.
