The chief injuries received by the deceased were concussion and contusions of the brain, from which he died within forty-eight hours after the accident. He was insensible immediately after his fall and until after treatment by a physician in the drug store to which he was removed, was semi-conscious *320the next day, and finally lapsed once more into insensibility. He was constantly complaining of pain in his head.
