The bill in the present case was filed for the purpose-of recovering the sum of about $12,000 and interest, now amounting in all to about $20,000, which principal sum; the railroad company claims it paid to certain customers of the road to cancel a liability brought upon it by the-negligence of one of its employees, T. C- McCampbellr who was chief clerk in complainant’s South Nashville-office.
