Section 14 (a) of the 'Civil Practice Act (Ga. L. 1966, pp. 609, 627; Code Ann. § 81A-114 (a)) insofar as relevant to the case here involved is identical to Rule 14 (a) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. It allows a defendant, as a third-party plaintiff, to bring into the action a third-party defendant “who is or may be liable to him for all or part of the plaintiff’s claim against him.”
In general we note that the federal rule is liberally construed to avoid delay and a multiplicity of actions where the third-party complaint is based on the same subject matter as…
