This is an action of libel in which the declaration of one count charges as the gravamen of the offense that at the time of the publication the plaintiff was a duly licensed and qualified attorney at law, and also a “special State’s attorney for the County of Cook and State of Illinois,” and that he was a resident and citizen of the City of Chicago and of good name, credit and reputation, etc., in the usual form; and also that he was a public man having been elected to public offices in the said City of Chicago, and that he was in…
