We granted defendant’s delayed application for leave to appeal his convictions of first-degree home invasion, MCL 750.110a(2), resisting and obstructing a police officer, MCL 750.81d(l), and the second-degree murder of Livonia Police Officer Larry Nehasil, MCL 750.317. These convictions were a result of defendant’s plea of nolo contendere to each of the charges. The trial court sentenced defendant as a fourth-offense habitual offender, MCL 769.12, to concurrent sentences of 50 to 100 years for the first-degree home invasion conviction, 3 to 15 years for the resisting and…
