The object of these two actions is to recover of the defendants, who were sued separately, the possession of two distinct lots of ground, with the buildings thereon erected, to which the plaintiff sets up title under a sale executed to him, by authentic act, by the assignee of the insolvent estate of Daniel T. Walden, the former owner thereof. James A. Gasquet, the defendant in one of the suits, having disclaimed any title in himself to the lot sued for, but having alleged that the property was in William A. Gasquet, as whose agent he holds the same, the latter intervened to defend his title…
