MEMORANDUM AND ORDER
WALKER, District Judge:
Plaintiff Gordon Fischer (“Fischer”) moves for sanctions pursuant to Fed.R. Civ.P. 11. Upon careful review of all relevant papers and the trial record, and having heard oral argument on this matter, this Court now imposes sanctions—in an amount equal to the costs and attorneys’ fees incurred in answering defendant’s counterclaim—against defense counsel for bringing a counterclaim that was both frivolous and interposed for an improper purpose.
