Mills R. Eure instituted this proceeding on April 4, 1952, in the Circuit Court of the City of Norfolk, Virginia, by motion to recover a personal judgment against Morgan Jones & Company, for breach of contract. The motion alleged that the defendant is a foreign corporation, with its principal office in Elgin, Illinois; that it “is doing business in the State of Virginia;” that “the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Virginia is the statutory agent for said corporation for the service of process;” that, by contract entered into in Norfolk, Virginia, defendant employed plaintiff to solicit…
