Title to certain real property taken in this condemnation proceeding was held by respondents Siegel and Kessler. The land in question was sold at tax sale by the Village of Freeport to Edward Morse, appellants’ predecessor, on January 28, 1964, for unpaid 1963 village taxes of $158.79 plus interest. Before the expiration of the two-year statutory redemption period (Beal Property Tax Law, §§ 1456,1458, subd. 2; § 1464), the subject land was taken by Nassau County in this condemnation proceeding to widen Atlantic Avenue in' the Village of Freeport.
