Robert Butts was convicted of one count each of first-degree burglary, second-degree kidnapping, going armed with intent, assault while participating in a felony, assault with the intent to commit sexual abuse, carrying weapons, and possession of burglar's tools. He filed a postconviction-relief action, asserting his trial counsel was ineffective.
