This action was dommenced on the 28th day of September, 1874, and issue was joined on the 20th day of October, 1874. The complaint charged in substance that the defendants, on the 10th day of September, 1874, published in an insurance journal known as the “ Chronicle,” a certain libel of and concerning the plaintiffs which is set forth at length in the complaint. It alleged no other publication or circulation of such libel.
