hOn August 24, 2004, Willie Benard (“Mr.Benard”) filed a Petition for Damages in the Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans against several defendants, including Eagle Asbestos & Packing Company (“Eagle”), alleging that he developed mesothelioma as a result of exposure to asbestos while employed as a maintenance mechanic at the Celotex plant in Westwego, Louisiana, from 1968 to 1978.
