¶ 1. Belevia Potts (Potts) filed suit against the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) alleging that a MDOT employee caused a severe injury to her knee. At the conclusion of a bench trial, the Attala County Circuit Court awarded Potts compensation for her medical expenses and for her pain and suffering.
