Tbe plaintiff, wbo is a colored man and a citizen and resident of tbe state of Indiana, sues tbe defendant, tbe Louisville & Nashville Railroad Company, a Kentucky corporation, wbicb is operating, as a common carrier, a railway between St. Louis, Mo., and Nashville, Tenn., and several other railways in tbe state of Kentucky, for an alleged wrongful act in putting him and bis wife off of its trains on two separate occasions.
