We accepted discretionary review of this criminal case to determine whether a witness's status as a parolee is admissible on cross-examination as impeachment pursuant to Kentucky Rule of Evidence (KRE) 611 despite the provision of KRE 609(b) that would render as presumptively too remote in time evidence of the more than thirty-year-old conviction upon which the witness's parole was based.
