Respondent Electric Corporation of Kansas City and its insurer Transportation Insurance Company (hereafter collectively referred to as respondent) appeal from an order of the Workers Compensation Board (Board) awarding claimant Laiy Osbom permanent partial disability benefits. At issue is this court’s decision in Boucher v. Peerless Products, Inc., 21 Kan. App. 2d 977, Syl. ¶ 2, 911 P.2d 198, rev. denied 260 Kan. 991 (1996), and the legislature’s recent amendment to the statute at issue in Boucher.
