Defendant was convicted of home invasion (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1991, ch. 38, par. 12 — 11(a)) and aggravated battery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1991, ch. 38, par. 12 — 4(b)(10)) following a jury trial in Macon County. He was subsequently sentenced to a term of 10 years’ imprisonment for the home invasion conviction and a concurrent term of 4 years’ imprisonment for the aggravated battery conviction.
