In two related actions to recover damages for personal injuries, (1) the plaintiff in Action No. 1 and the plaintiff in Action No. 2 appeal from so much of an order of the Supreme Court, Queens County (Dye, J.), dated April 4, 2002, as denied their respective motions for summary judgment on the issue of liability as to their respective causes of action pursuant to Labor Law § 240 (1), and (2) the defendants in both actions cross-appeal, as limited by their brief, from so much of the same order as denied their cross motions for summary judgment dismissing the complaints in both actions.
