DOYLE, Judge.

This is an appeal by Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (Employer or SEPTA) from an order of the Workmen’s Compensation Appeal Board (Board) which affirmed a referee’s decision granting, for a closed period of time, a reinstatement petition filed by Jerome Pointer (Claimant).

The following facts as found by the referee are pertinent. Claimant suffered a work-related lumbar strain on July 6, 1985 while employed by SEPTA as a bus operator. SEPTA paid compensation for approximately six weeks until Claimant signed a final receipt on or about July 17, 1985. Thereafter,…
