This action was begun in the district court for Jefferson county by Hellen Ude, plaintiff, to recover $1,000 from the Modern Woodmen of America, defendant, under the terms of a fraternal beneficiary insurance certificate, dated June 15, 1927, which was issued by the defendant society to her uncle, Captain C. Parker, and wherein plaintiff was named *547as the sole beneficiary. Plaintiff recovered a verdict and judgment thereon for $1,086.70, from which the defendant has appealed.
