Following a jury trial, defendant, Henry Kaczmarek, was convicted of murder (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, par. 9 — 1), residential burglary (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, par. 19 — 3), home invasion (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, par. 12 — 11), and armed robbery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, pars. 18 — 1, 18 — 2).
