1Opinion of the Court

CROW, Judge.

On Tuesday, January 27, 1981, a moped operated by David J. Roper (“plaintiff”) collided with a Pontiac automobile operated by Diane M. Archibald (“defendant”) in the intersection of Campbell Avenue and West-view Street in Springfield, Missouri. Plaintiff, hospitalized six weeks as a result of the accident, sued defendant for personal injuries. Trial by jury produced a verdict for defendant, and judgment was correspondingly entered. Plaintiff appeals, insisting the trial court erred in instructing the jury on contributory negligence.1
