The question before us is whether a stockholder motivated solely by personal investment concerns may compel a company to produce a stockholder list for him to inspect and copy. The Appeals Court held that the plaintiff had no right to inspect the stockholder list because he was motivated solely by a desire “to obtain information that might result in acquiring additional company stock for his investment portfolio.” Shabshelowitz v.
