Scattergood v. Martin

Two cases are submitted, together. Both were cases to foreclose mortgages executed by Emanuel Johns and wife to the Southern Kansas Mortgage Company. Each mortgage was for $2,500. The one under which Ellis claims covers lot 8, and the one sued on by Scattergood covers lot 9 in block 3 in the city of Lyons. Both plaintiffs claim under assignments executed in blank by the Southern Kansas Mortgage Company.
