I. Introduction
In November of 1976, plaintiff Sara L. Ferguson 1 commenced a sex discrimination action pursuant to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 2 (“Title VII”) against defendant E.I. duPont de Nemours and Company, Inc. (“Du Pont”). 3 Basically, plaintiff claimed violations of Title VII based upon the following four theories: first, denial of promotion due to intentional sexual discrimination; second, wage discrimination; third, sexual harassment; 4 and fourth, retaliation.
