This matter comes before the court on a series of orders to show cause.

In addressing these applications, the following question must be answered: does this court, under the facts of this case, have subject matter jurisdiction over the dispute, that is, the custody of the Rivazfar children, which would allow it to entertain a request to modify the provisions of the June 7, 1989 custody decree rendered by the State of Florida?
