Appeal from an order of the Supreme Court (Torraca, J.), entered July 13, 1993 in Ulster County, which, inter alia, granted defendant’s cross motion for summary judgment dismissing the complaint.
On February 18, 1989, Jean A. Smedes, an infant, was injured when an automobile operated by Mary Crispell and *815owned by Lawrence Crispell left the road and struck a utility pole. The Crispell vehicle was insured by State Farm Insurance Company, which provided primary coverage for the accident.
