Defendant, Bennie Starks, appeals from an order of the trial court denying his motion for a new trial on his convictions of one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, pars. 12 — 14(a)(2), (a)(5) (now 720 ILCS 5/12 — 14(a)(2), (a)(5) (West 2004))) and one count of attempted aggravated criminal sexual assault (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 8 — 4(a) (now 720 ILCS 5/8 — 4(a) (West 2004))).
