BRECKENRIDGE, Judge.

Sterling Robinson appeals from his conviction, after jury trial, of assault in the third degree, § 565.070, RSMo 1986,1 for which he was sentenced to forty-five days in the county jail and given a fine of $250.00. In his appeal Mr. Robinson claims that the trial court erred in: (1) not allowing defense counsel to question the jury panel as to possible bias against men who hit women; (2) not allowing reference to certain allegations the defense made about the victim to be presented in the opening statement as a motive for Mr. Robinson’s actions; and (3) forbidding defense…
