STEVENS, Circuit Judge.

Plaintiff asserts exclusive rights in over 270 alphabet styles. Defendants contend that the uncopyrighted alphabets, having been published generally, are in the public domain and, therefore, as a matter of federal law, plaintiff’s monopoly claims must be rejected. The complaint, charging a wrongful appropriation of intellectual property, was filed in the state court and removed on the ground that it raised questions under the Federal Copyright Act.1 The district court entered two orders from which plaintiff appeals; on January 20, 1970, he allowed defendants’ petition…
