The testator in the first clause of his will gives the usual direction for the prompt payment of his debts and funeral expenses. In the second item, he bequeaths all his household furniture and plate absolutely to his wife, and “ also the annual sum of $3000, to be paid to her in four quarterly payments, by his executors, out of his residuary estate, during her life.” In the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth clauses, he gives various particular bequests and directions as to other portions of his estate.
