On March 2,1965, Irene M. Geraty filed a wrongful death action in the circuit court of Cook County, on her own behalf and as administratrix- of the estate of Patrick B. Geraty, her late husband, against Carbona Products Company, Exo Products Company, and Walgreen Company. The complaint stated that the deceased died as a result of having been exposed to dangerous fumes allegedly emitted by a cleaning product manufacted by Carbona and/or Exo and sold to the decedent by Walgreen Company.
