On December 11, 1902, defendant, in consideration of a single premium, paid, and to be paid, for the whole, issued its fire policy in an amount “not exceeding $2,500” on plaintiff’s “stock of general merchandise * * • while kept in the one-story, frame, composition roof building” situated in the town of Opelousas, and “on the above-described building,” the amount placed on the stock being $1,000 and on the building $1,500; the whole, subject to the following, among other, conditions:(1) That the entire policy should be void unless otherwise provided by agreement, indorsed…
