The American Sugar Refining Company, a New Jersey corporation, and the Brooklyn Cooperage Company, a subsidiary of the former organized under the laws of the State of New York, joined in three separate certiorari proceedings to review tax assessments for the years 1933, 1934 and 1935, respectively, on eight separate parcels of improved real property in Brooklyn, of which six parcels were owned by the former company and two were owned by the subsidiary, on the grounds of inequality, illegality and overvaluation.
