General Municipal Law § 207-a (2) guarantees the payment of benefits to a firefighter who is permanently disabled in the line of duty, including the continued payment of the firefighter’s regular salary until the mandatory retirement age, less certain amounts received from other sources (hereinafter section 207-a [2] benefits).
