After the defendant was indicted for trafficking in cocaine, he moved to suppress as evidence the drugs found *512in his car by the State police after he was stopped for speeding. The Commonwealth contended that the drugs were found as the result of an inventory search. Based on the evidence presented at the hearing on the defendant’s motion, the judge concluded that the drugs were discovered in the course of neither a valid inventory search nor a search based on probable cause.
