This is an appeal from the judgment of the St. Clair circuit court, in an action of replevin, in favor of the appellant against the appellee, tried in that court at its March term, 1873.
The principal controversy at the trial was upon the issue presented by a plea of the defendant, claiming that the property in controversy did not belong to him, but that it was the separate property of his wife, Elizabeth Ziegler.
