Fredrick Williams was charged with possession of a controlled substance after police found methamphetamine in the trunk of a vehicle he was driving. The circuit court granted Williams’ motion to suppress the evidence obtained from the trunk based on an unlawful search and seizure. In this interlocutory appeal pursuant to Section 547.200.1(3). 1 the State contends the court erred in suppressing the evidence because Williams does not have standing to challenge the search of the vehicle that was owned by his girlfriend.
