Dedrick Gandy appeals his 180-month sentence for possessing a firearm and ammunition after having been convicted of at least three violent felonies. On appeal, Gandy argues that he should not have been sentenced under the Armed Career Criminal Act (“ACCA”), as codified at 18 U.S.C. § 924(e), because the government failed to meet its burden of establishing that his conviction labeled aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and his conviction labeled burglary of a structure were qualifying offenses using Shepard 1 approved documents.
