VANDE WALLE, Justice.
Joseph Zundel appealed from a judgment awarding James Gohner $9,018 in damages and from an order denying his motion for a new trial. We affirm in part, reverse in part, and remand for a new trial.
In May 1984, Gohner brought an action against Zundel seeking damages for summer fallow and fall plowing Gohner did on land which he had been renting from Zun-del and which Zundel had decided to lease to another person. Zundel answered denying the allegations of the complaint and counterclaimed seeking reimbursement for the use of his equipment and storage facilities by Gohner.…
