Stephen G. Chilson, plaintiff in error, was indicted by the grand jury of Cook county, at the February term, 1906, of the criminal court, for the crime of obtaining money by means of the confidence game. Upon trial at the May term of the criminal court he was convicted, and after the court had overruled a motion for a new trial and a motion in arrest of judgment he was sentenced to the penitentiary at Joliet. He prosecutes this writ.
