OPINION

DAUGHTREY, Judge.

Joseph Arthur Mattino, a youthful first offender, was sentenced by the Shelby County Criminal Court to serve 11 months and 29 days in the Shelby County Penal Farm upon his plea of guilty to a charge of petit larceny. At the time the plea was entered, a hearing was held on the defendant’s petition for suspension of sentence and admission to probation, and at the conclusion of the hearing the trial court denied suspension and probation. The defendant appeals this denial, asserting that the trial court erred in denying his petition. We agree, and consequently reverse the…
