Following her indictment in May, 2010, on ninety-three counts of failure to pay wages timely, in violation of G. L. c. 149, § 148, the defendant filed an affidavit of indigency and sought appointment of counsel at public expense. In accordance with G. L. c. 21 ID, § 2 Vz (a),2 the probation department interviewed the defendant in order to verify her claim of indigency.
