Dr. William H. Nelson, plaintiff in the underlying tort action, appeals the trial court’s grant of summary judgment to the Glynn-Brunswick Hospital Authority d/b/a Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center (hereinafter Southeast), Quorum Health Services Center, Quorum Health Services, Inc., and E. Berton Whitaker, defendants below. Nelson contends that there were genuine issues of fact in his claims of (1) defamation, (2) invasion of privacy, (3) intentional infliction of emotional distress, (4) violation of OCGA § 24-9-40, and (5) punitive damages.
